A category is not a planning decision
The Building plots & development category describes how a site is marketed. It does not promise that a house or another scheme can be built. Likewise, woodland, paddock and amenity labels do not settle which activities are lawful.
Follow the reference
- Ask for the planning reference and the authority that issued or is considering it.
- Read the decision and plans for the actual parcel offered, rather than relying on a neighbouring approval.
- Ask a qualified adviser to explain conditions, outstanding matters, time limits and whether your intended project is covered.
Use the correct authority
Planning is handled under different systems across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Contact the relevant local planning authority for the site. The official links below are starting points for England, Wales and Scotland; in Northern Ireland begin with the relevant council planning office.
Application pending means a decision is awaited. Not confirmed means the advertiser has not established the position. Neither is an approval.
